Download and Deploy Cisco AnyConnect is a simple operation if you adhere to the steps below.
Requirements
Before the user start, check the following prerequisites:
- Operating system support: Windows 10/11, macOS, or Linux distributions.
- Administrator rights on the device.
- Internet access for the download.
Download procedure
1. Open a web browser such as Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.
2. Go to the Cisco vendor site or your company intranet.
3. Locate the AnyConnect Secure Mobility package for your operating system.
4. Click the obtain button and save the installer.
Verify the download
Following the download, confirm the file:
- File size should agree with the expected value.
- When available, confirm the signature.
Install on Windows
1. Right-click the installer and choose Run as admin.
2. Follow the screen instructions:
- Accept the user agreement.
- Choose the standard components.
3. Finalize the setup and log off and on if needed.
Install on macOS
1. Open the dmg and double-click the installer.
2. Follow the setup prompts, enter root password when prompted.
3. Allow any system access in System Settings if needed.
Install on Linux
1. Extract the archive https://github.com/ivclient/Ivanti-Secure-Access-Client/releases if archived.
2. Run the installation script with elevated rights, for example:
sudo ./vpn_install.sh
3. Follow the terminal messages to complete the install.
Connect to a VPN
1. Launch the AnyConnect application.
2. Enter the gateway URL.
3. Provide your username and password and any 2FA code.
4. Click Begin connection and verify the connection status.
Troubleshooting
If you face problems:
- Confirm network connectivity.
- Power cycle the software.
- Reinstall the client.
- Consult the system logs for messages and search Cisco knowledge base.
