Calls for change in Australia's policy towards foreign fighters following terror attack
The Australian government has released video of the shocking arrest of one of its most notorious fighters in a raid in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
The man, identified only as Abu Dass, was being questioned by police hours after a shooting attack on a busy road in the southern part of the city of Hebron that left two soldiers dead and eight civilians injured.
According to a report by a police spokeswoman and a Palestinian man who said he is Abu Dass, he was dragged from his car to a nearby police vehicle and then punched several times.
He claims an Israeli soldier grabbed him by the arm and took him to a police station, where the Israeli said he was then ordered to cut off his hair.
As Abu Dass protested, two Israeli soldiers who appeared to be officers opened fire into the crowd, which was hurling rocks and petrol bombs at them.
In the video, a second man who appeared to be Abu Dass's cousin, identified only as Othman, is heard to say he was at the scene to watch as the attack was carried out.
'One of the soldiers got away, and then the other guy came, and he opened fire and I saw him coming up to the car... So I ran over to the car and told them to stop,' the woman said.
